1. When there is a major hail storm, we get a lot of calls from people who aren’t sure how well their roof held up. We do not recommend that anyone climb up on their roofs, as this can be very dangerous. We have all the proper insurances and safety training necessary to check on your roof safely. We do FREE estimates, so don’t hesitate to call! If you see baseball-sized hail on the news, it is very likely your roofing has dings, dents, scratches, flipped up edges and possibly even a leak. The good news is that 9 times out of 10, all we have to do is replace a couple rogue shingles that were damaged, which is not expensive at all.

2. Call your insurance company. Most of the time, hail damage is covered by your homeowners’ insurance, so you won’t have to pay a thing! We recommend having a roofing contractor and a claims adjuster come to your house. Often, your roofing is more likely to be covered when you have a roofing contractor there to verify the extent of the damage.

3. Be honest and up front with your KC roofing contractor. Many homeowners failed to pay their contractors after the storm damages last year. Maybe they used the insurance money to pay other bills or maybe their homes were going into foreclosure. The worst thing is when people try to avoid us.
